One of the great things about choosing long-distance running as your sport of choice is that it’s relatively low-cost. Once you’ve invested a good pair of running shoes and whatever other gear you’ve deemed advisable, you’re free to run as long and as far as you want without paying.



But when you’re training for a particular race, it’s a good idea to find a route with a measurable distance so you can keep track of your mileage and your progress. Fortunately, there are a number of online resources that will help you find running routes of different distances in your area, or even plot one out. Here are a few examples:
